Halloween

Happy Birthday Brigham!  Brigham was born on Halloween and he hates it.  It makes me a little bit sad.  I really love Halloween and wish that B did too.  Hopefully as our family grows and children get older he will learn to at least tolerate it and participate for them.  We shall see.

Fun side note:  Someone once told me that if your due date is Halloween, that the conception
date was Valentines day.  Apparently Brigham was born on his due date....
He also hates when I bring that up, but how could I resist?

This was Callum's first Halloween and it was so much fun!  He is such a cute kid.  Some family lent us a super cute little chubby chicken costume.  I loved it so much!  He looked so cute!

My sweet sister wanted to go Trick-or-Treating with us, so she came over and we went with Aunt Wendy and Olivia and her friend.  (I am special and did not get any pictures of all the kids together)  I pushed Callum for most of it, but then we decided that he should work for his candy so we brought him up the the door and he got to pick.  It was really funny because sometimes he would choose right away and put the candy in the bag and other times he would hover his hand over the bowl for a while until I gave up and picked one for him.  He also had a little bit of stranger danger and if someone he didn't know tried to hand him candy he wouldn't take it; he would be reaching out until they started to give him something and then he would suck his hand back to himself and give them a look that seemed to say "Umm... I don't know you, and I don't think I should take things from you."  Very cute and very funny.

Trick or Treating is hard work!
We went for several hours.  I had decided that we would just go as long as Olivia and her friend wanted to go, and they were having such a good time and it was so warm (I didn't really even need a jacket!) that we ended up staying out for a lot longer than expected.  So when we finally got home, we took Callum to see John (Grandpa Forrest) because he was so excited to see Callum in his costume.  While we were there, Claire and Duncan came to visit too and they all got to play together for a little while.  It was such a fun day!  I know Callum didn't really care all that much (only 10 months old), but I had fun!  I love that little boy so so much!

So Skinny!

My sweet little boy is so skinny!  Never did I think that I would have a hard time finding clothes to fit a 10 month old... The clothes, mostly pants, that are long enough for him fall right off and the pants that are skinny enough end up as shorts!  Who would have thought :)  Well I guess I should have... this is very reminiscent of my childhood.

So I guess I really do need to continue to learn how to sew so that I can either make or take in clothes for Callum; he will probably be tall and skinny his whole life, lucky duck!

Surprisingly he did not protest at all when we put this on him
In other news, I am really excited for Halloween this year!  Halloween is Brigham's birthday, so he tends to not like it very much, but I think he will be more open to the holiday now that we have Callum.  Also, our cousins, the Stapley's, have a cute Chicken costume that I think we will barrow for Callum, and it is so funny!  We tried it on him, and he was chubby for the first time in his life!  He looked so cute.  I will probably take him Trick or Treating with the Stapley's, we can't dress him up with no where to go! So that should be fun.  I will see if I can get Brigham to join us :)  I won't get my hopes up though... I love Halloween and I love to dress up, and this year I want to be an elf, yes and elf but not a Christmas elf, a Fantasy/Lord of the Rings kind of elf, and I am sure Brigham will not want to be seen with me.  That will be mostly because I will be wearing a cloak.  I have always wanted a cloak and what better way to get one than to dress up like an elf for Halloween!  Haha, yeah, I know the geek in me just blazed forth.  Oh well, there you have it :)

I do, however, have a feeling that the Holidays in the years to come are going to be a lot more fun!

Fun Facts:
He likes to give hugs and kisses.
He loves his Grandpa Forrest pretty much more than anyone else.  So funny and cute.
He loves dogs!  He smiles and laughs every time he sees one.
He likes to try and play with Phoebe by shoving toys in her face.  She is a good sport and he laughs the whole time.
He is still crawling, but I think he will be by the time he is one year old.
He likes to push the computer chair around like it is a big truck!  It is funny to watch.
He is so smart!  He knows how to say "all done" in sign language so he can tell us when he is all done eating.  It makes me laugh every time.
He is such a good little boy.  I love him so much.  What a blessing he has been in my life :)
